Can you answer YES to any of the following?

Your doctor says your test results are normal so there’re nothing more they can do

You’re tired all the time and your doctor assumes it’s because you’re lazy

Your blood tests are slightly abnormal but rather than investigating further, your doctor dismisses them as being weight related

You’re more short of breath than usual or tire more easily and your doctor assumes it’s because you’re unfit

You’ve seen a lot of specialists who claim there is nothing wrong with you, but clearly that is not the case

You’re in a lot of pain but doctors refuse to give you adequate pain relief

You know something is wrong but you can’t get a doctor to take you seriously. Most of the time they don’t even go so far as to examine you

Then it sounds like it's time for a change!

"I feel really seen and heard and supported by you, and I feel like I can say for the first time in months I am going to get my surgeries and I am going to get my diagnoses, and I feel like you've reignited the fight in me that the majority of other medical professionals have actively sought to put out."

My clients are fed up of being treated like crap by their doctors. They’ve had enough. They know they deserve better. They’re ready for a radically different experience.

My clients are ready to prioritise themselves. They know that making an investment in their health and wellbeing will ripple through the rest of their lives.

My clients are enthusiastic about taking their power back from a medical system that was designed to oppress Fat people. They’re done with the status quo. They want something better.

My clients are not interested in pursuing weight loss. That doesn’t mean they aren’t tempted, especially if they’re being pressured or coerced into it. But ultimately they know it isn’t sustainable.

"My consultation with you has helped me in more ways than I can list here or even have the words to describe. Talking to you about what I've been dealing with, I finally feel heard and no longer alone.."

You deserve a doctor who...

Treats each symptom with curiosity rather than immediately dismissing them as weight/lifestyle related

Takes all of your suggestions and concerns seriously, and takes the time to validate you.

Is able to look at the big picture and consider underlying issues that could be causing multiple symptoms

Knows a good amount about all the medical specialties rather than solely focussing on one area of expertise

Doesn’t have a fragile ego and is happy to admit when they are wrong or simply don’t know the answer

Recognises that no one knows more about your body than you do, and welcomes your input

Takes their time with you and never makes you feel like a nuisance

Believes you and never tries to convince you that you’re imagining things

Respects your autonomy and lets you take the reigns

"To have a doctor listen to you properly, and actually discuss your concerns and how you feel and what could be going on is game-changing."

Here's how I helped previous clients

By the time I met Kris, they had been seen by a rheumatologist, an orthopedic surgeon and a pain clinician, yet none of them could even agree on a diagnosis let alone offer any treatment. One said it was Fibromyalgia. The other said it was mild arthritis of the spine. The third wasn’t sure and just prescribed anti-inflammatories. The only thing all three specialists agreed on was that losing weight would help. Except it didn’t. In fact, it made the pain worse. After exploring their medical history, I believed Kris had hypermobile EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and together we came up with a plan to get a formal diagnosis and treatment plan.

Charlie had developed some vague abdominal symptoms and a loss of appetite. Her doctor thought this was a great thing and didn’t see any cause for concern. I did. I asked Charlie to list all the things she thought might be causing her symptoms. Then we wrote a list of all the things that needed to happen next. Charlie left with a management plan and a personalised script to take back to her doctor. Which is a good thing, since it turned out she had stage one bladder cancer.

Rikki had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was 19. He was now 42 and had several health issues, some of which were long term side effects of his medications. But his doctors never seemed to believe him or take him seriously. It was as if no one could see past his bipolar diagnosis. Rikki spent the first few minutes of his consultation trying to convince me that he was not imagining things. It’s only when I assured him that I would always believe him and I would never use his weight or mental health against him that he was able to relax.

"My consultation with Asher was one of the best things I've ever done - it was a real act of self-care. I came away feeling calm, and with a plan in place to help me move forward with my health journey."

The first thing I can offer you is time. We’ll spend 90 minutes together in which I will validate your experiences, answer your questions, and offer weight neutral advice and information.

The second thing I can offer you is automatic respect. You don’t have to earn it. You know more about your body and your health than any medical professional ever will, and I will honour your expertise.

The third thing I can offer you is the support and encouragement you need to reclaim your agency and power. I ensure that you set the agenda and lead the conversation. You are always in charge!

Finally, we’ll work together to come up with a diagnosis and create a personalised management plan. You’ll leave with a bespoke script that you can take back to your own doctor, including how to avoid weight talk.
