Everything You've Been Taught about weight loss is a lie

No weigh

Let's Set the Record Straight

I'm Dr. Asher Larmie, and I've spent 20 years practicing medicine only to discover that everything I was taught about weight and health was wrong. No Weigh isn't just another course—it's an evidence-based rebellion against decades of harmful weight loss prescriptions.

As both a Fat doctor and a Fat patient, I’ve seen weight stigma from both sides of the consulting room. I’m now creating the book that the whole world desperately need to read, and I want you to be part of it. Each month, we’ll dismantle another weight loss myth with science, lived experience, and a healthy dose of inspiring righteous fury.

What You'll Get

  • Monthly pre-recorded presentations breaking down the research without the jargon
  • Monthly live confidential calls where we can speak freely about our experiences
  • First access to each chapter of my book as it’s written

What No Weigh Is (And what it Isn't)

No Weigh isn’t a weight loss program disguised as a “lifestyle change.” It’s not a diet plan, a wellness protocol, or a health transformation course.

No weigh is an evidence-based exploration of why weight loss is unsustainable, unhelpful, and actively harmful – backed by science that your doctor either doesn’t know about or chooses to ignore.

This is where we examine the research that medical professionals aren’t reading, the studies they’re misinterpreting, and the evidence they’re ignoring when they prescribe weight loss as a universal solution.

Why This Matters

Every day, in medical offices around the world, Fat people are being prescribed weight loss instead of receiving actual care. Every day, medical professionals are perpetuating harm while believing they’re helping. Every day, we lose another opportunity to provide real, evidence-based healthcare.

I created No Weigh because I’m tired of watching this happen, and I’m guessing you are too.

What You'll Get Each Month

  • Deep Dive Presentations: I break down complex research into straightforward explanations you can understand and use
  • Confidential Live Calls: A safe space to share experiences and build community without judgment (these aren’t recorded, so you can speak freely)
  • Q&A Sessions: Submit your questions in advance, and I’ll address them with evidence and practical advice
  • First Access to Book Chapters: Read my upcoming book as it’s being written and help shape the message that will challenge the medical establishment

Be Part of Something Bigger

This isn’t just about your individual journey (though that matters enormously). It’s about being part of a movement that’s challenging the status quo in healthcare. Your experiences, your insights, your questions, and your anger at the system will help shape a book powerful enough to change how medicine treats Fat people.

Together, we’re creating the future of healthcare – one where every body deserves care, no weight loss required.

which one are you?

The seeker

You know dieting doesn't work becuse you've tried them all, but you still catch yourself wondering if weight loss might solve your health concerns. Your doctor keeps prescribing it, and part of you still wonders if they're right. You're looking for evidence to finally put those doubts to rest.
Benefit: You'll gain the scientific backing to confidently reject weight loss prescriptions and explore genuine health approaches instead.

The Thinker

You need to understand the "why" behind everything. Reading a headline isn't enough - you want the research, the studies, the mechanisms. You appreciate when complex information is broken down clearly, but you don't want the details glossed over.
Benefit: You'll get detailed evidence breakdowns with citations, methodological analysis, and explanations of how the research applies to real-world healthcare.

The teacher

You're a health professional, coach, or advocate already working from a weight-inclusive perspective. Your clients come to you confused about their doctor's advice, and you want robust, evidence-based responses to help them navigate medical weight stigma.
Benefit: You'll receive ready-to-use explanations and resources to support your clients when they face weight-centric healthcare.

The Skeptic

You've heard claims that weight loss doesn't improve health and you're not convinced. Maybe you've seen me on social media or heard me on a podcast, and you're wondering how a doctor could possibly argue against weight loss. You want to see the evidence for yourself.
You'll be exposed to research and analysis that challenges conventional wisdom, with space to ask challenging questions and get straightforward answers.

This Program Is Especially Valuable If You:

  • Have been told to lose weight for health reasons but intuitively feel that’s not the answer
  • Are tired of the shame and blame that comes with weight-focused healthcare
  • Want to advocate for yourself (or others) more effectively in medical settings
  • Are curious about the science behind weight regulation and the impact of weight cycling
  • Work with clients who face weight stigma in healthcare
  • Are ready to join a community that gets it, where you don’t have to defend your right to exist in your body

Why I Created No Weigh

I’ve spent over 20 years practicing medicine while also navigating healthcare as a Fat person. This unique perspective – seeing weight stigma from both sides of the consulting room – has shown me something crucial: the entire foundation of weight-centric healthcare is built on lies.

For most of my career, I believed those lies. I prescribed weight loss.

I thought I was helping.

I was wrong.

My Personal Turning Point

During the COVID pandemic, I found myself stepping on the scale and starting yet another weight loss attempt. As my mental health deteriorated, I discovered the anti-diet movement and began examining the research that contradicted everything I’d been taught in medical school.

What I found wasn’t just surprising – it was infuriating. The evidence simply doesn’t support weight loss as a sustainable or effective medical intervention. The studies don’t show what we’ve been told they show. The entire narrative around weight and health has been distorted to serve a multi-billion dollar industry.

From Following Protocol to Breaking the Rules

This revelation transformed my approach to medicine. I began questioning the protocols I’d followed for years, listening more carefully to Fat patients’ experiences, and examining the research with new eyes.

Today, I’ve dedicated my career to challenging harmful weight-centric narratives and promoting evidence-based, weight-inclusive care. I’m writing a book that will change how medicine treats Fat patients, and I want you to be part of it.

The Book That Will Change Medicine

This isn’t just another book about weight and health. This is a thorough dismantling of weight-centric medicine, backed by evidence and fueled by the experiences of people who’ve been harmed by it. It’s a clear, uncompromising message to healthcare providers: We must never prescribe weight loss. No exceptions.

Through No Weigh, you’ll get first access to each chapter, participate in the conversations that shape this important work, and be part of a community that’s challenging the status quo in healthcare.

Program Curriculum

We’ll examine the biological mechanisms that make long-term weight loss virtually impossible for most people. You’ll learn why your body fights to regain weight after dieting and why this isn’t a failure of willpower—it’s your body working exactly as designed.

This month we’ll explore how the weight loss industry profits from your perceived “failure.” You’ll understand the genetic, environmental, and physiological factors that determine weight, and why personal responsibility narratives serve commercial interests rather than health.

We’ll unpack how the language of “healthy lifestyle changes” often masks the same harmful diet mentality. You’ll learn to identify when “clean eating,” “wellness,” or “nutrition plans” are just diets repackaged, and the impact these disguised diets have on your relationship with food and body.

Focusing on conditions like Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, and Osteoarthritis of the knee, we’ll examine what the evidence actually shows about weight loss as treatment.

Using diabetes and prediabetes as our case study, we’ll look at the actual evidence behind weight loss as “preventive medicine.” You’ll discover why the common medical advice to “just lose weight” to prevent disease lacks scientific foundation.

We’ll examine blood pressure, cholesterol, and other markers often used to justify weight loss prescriptions. You’ll learn what the research actually shows about body size and longevity, and why the “ob*sity epidemic” narrative doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.

This month reveals the documented harms of intentional weight loss attempts, from metabolic damage to psychological distress. You’ll understand why “just eat less, move more” isn’t just ineffective – it’s actively harmful advice.

We’ll explore what happens when your weight repeatedly goes up and down (as it does for almost everyone who diets). You’ll learn why this cycle may be more damaging to health than maintaining a stable weight at any size.

This month examines the troubling intersection between prescribed weight loss and disordered eating. You’ll understand why the behaviors prescribed as “healthy lifestyle changes” for higher-weight people would be diagnosed as eating disorders in thin people.

We’ll unpack the realities of bariatric surgery beyond the marketing hype. You’ll get the complete picture of outcomes, complications, and long-term effects that patients are rarely told before surgery.

With the rise of GLP-1 medications being prescribed for weight loss, we’ll examine what the evidence actually shows about these drugs. You’ll learn about the research gaps, side effects, and ethical questions surrounding their use.

Using cancer treatment as our case study, we’ll explore the ethics of pressuring patients to lose weight. You’ll understand why true informed consent becomes impossible when weight loss is presented as the only option.

This month reveals how fixation on weight causes doctors to miss or delay critical diagnoses. You’ll learn how to advocate for proper testing and treatment regardless of your size.

We’ll examine why many Fat people avoid seeking healthcare until conditions become severe. You’ll understand the systemic barriers to care and how to navigate them more effectively.

Our final month connects the dots between commercial interests, medical practice, and public health policy. You’ll see how financial incentives shape healthcare recommendations and learn to identify conflicts of interest.

How We'll Learn Together

Each month builds upon previous content, creating a comprehensive understanding of why weight-centric healthcare fails and what alternatives exist. You’ll not only gain knowledge but also practical tools for navigating healthcare encounters and advocating for evidence-based, weight-inclusive care.

The curriculum combines scientific evidence, medical insights, and practical application – all delivered without the complex jargon but with all the nuance this important topic deserves.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the Program Structure

Each month includes a pre-recorded presentation exploring a specific aspect of weight science, a live group call for discussion, a recorded Q&A session, and exclusive first access to a chapter of my upcoming book. You’ll also be part of a community challenging weight-centric healthcare.

The live calls are unstructured, confidential spaces where we learn from each other. I facilitate these calls, but they’re very much a group effort where members share experiences, ask questions, and build community. These aren’t recorded to maintain everyone’s privacy and encourage open conversation. The Q&A sessions, on the other hand, are recorded responses to questions submitted in advance, allowing you to learn at your own pace.

Not at all. While the live calls offer a unique opportunity for community connection, the pre-recorded presentations and Q&A sessions can be watched anytime. Many members engage with the content at their own pace and still get tremendous value from the program.

Absolutely! In fact, I specifically recommend No Weigh to healthcare professionals looking to develop weight-inclusive practices. The evidence-based approach gives you both the research foundation and practical strategies to better serve patients of all sizes. You’ll learn how to provide care that doesn’t center weight loss and how to address the harm caused by weight-centric approaches.

Time Commitment

This depends entirely on how deeply you want to engage. At minimum:

  • Pre-recorded presentations: 30-45 minutes per month
  • Live calls (if you choose to attend): 1 hour per month
  • Q&A sessions: 30 minutes per month
  • Book chapters: Approximately 30-40 minutes reading time
  • Many members also spend time reflecting on the content, participating in discussions, and applying what they’ve learned to their own situations.

The program is designed to be flexible. All content remains accessible to active members, so you can catch up at your own pace. While the chapters build on each other, each one also stands alone as a valuable resource.

Technical & Logistical Questions

No Weigh is hosted on Thinkific, a user-friendly learning platform that’s easy to navigate. Once you join, you’ll create an account and gain immediate access to the available content. Live calls are hosted via Zoom, and you’ll receive the link before each session.

The platforms we use (Thinkific and Zoom) are designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. If you can browse the internet and use email, you’ll be able to navigate the program. We also provide clear instructions for joining calls and accessing content.

The presentation slides are available as downloadable PDFs with hyperlinks to the original research, making it easy for you to explore the evidence directly. The book chapters, Q&A recordings, and other video content must be streamed through the platform to protect my intellectual property. Remember, you’re getting exclusive access to my book as it’s being written, so I need to ensure this content remains secure.

Membership & Billing

You can cancel your membership at any time. You’ll continue to have access to all content until the end of the billing period you’ve paid for. After that, your access will end. There are no long-term commitments required.

You may need to provide payment details during signup, but you won’t be charged unless you specifically choose to upgrade to the paid program. Your free preview remains completely free.

Value & Impact

No Weigh combines medical expertise with lived experience in a unique way. While many programs focus solely on intuitive eating or body image, No Weigh directly addresses the medical aspects of weight science and gives you the evidence you need to navigate healthcare confidently. Plus, you’re literally helping create a book that will change medicine.

No. This program is explicitly not about weight loss. It’s about understanding the science that shows why weight loss doesn’t deliver on its promises and often causes harm. If you’re looking for weight loss guidance, even “non-diet” approaches to weight loss, this program isn’t the right fit.

If you’re tired of weight-centric healthcare, curious about the science behind weight regulation, or want to advocate more effectively for yourself or others in medical settings, No Weigh is for you. It’s designed for both people with lived experience of weight stigma and professionals who want to provide better care.
