Transform Your Organization's Approach to Weight-Inclusive Care
I’m Dr. Asher Larmie, a GP with over 20 years of clinical experience who helps healthcare organizations, medical schools, and companies implement evidence-based, weight-inclusive practices.
As founder of NoWeigh.org and creator of The Fat Doctor platform, I’ve trained healthcare professionals across the UK—from NHS trusts to universities to medical device companies—helping them address weight stigma and improve patient outcomes.
Organizations I’ve worked with include: NHS Lothian, Oxford Brookes University, University College London, Medstrom, LGBT Health and Wellbeing, TASHRA, and EDRD Pro.
My Background
After graduating from Barts and The London Medical School in 2003, I spent two decades practicing within a weight-centric healthcare system. After discovering the evidence contradicting traditional weight-loss prescriptions, I took a step back from clinical practice, founded the No Weigh Movement, and transitioned into full-time education, advocacy, and consultancy work.
As a fat, autistic, transmasculine doctor, I bring a unique perspective that combines extensive clinical experience, rigorous evidence analysis, and lived experience of medical discrimination. I critically examine medical research on weight and health, translating complex evidence into practical guidance for healthcare professionals and organizations.
My Expertise
After 20+ years as a practicing GP, I now focus on:
✓ Healthcare consulting and training on weight-inclusive practices

✓ Public speaking and keynote presentations
✓ Creating professional development resources through NoWeigh.org

I’ve served as Director of Policy and Advocacy for the Association for Weight and Size Inclusive Medicine and was keynote speaker at the 8th Annual Weight Stigma Conference in Berlin (2022).
